Can you guess what question we get asked the most? Are you guys open on the weekends. And of course that makes perfect sense because quite often small business owners and start-ups who need high quality photography are supporting their new business venture with full time work.

The good news is folks that not only are we open on the weekend, but we don’t have weekend penalty rates, how cool is that? Check out our standard rates below which are also available for Saturday and Sunday. You can thank us later.

Dry Hire Rates

Photo Studio Half Day – $400

Styled Shoots Half Day – $1200*

*Please note these photographic rates include a professional photographer, soft edit and digital delivery of all usable shots.

Broadcast Video Rates

Half Day Shoot – $2200**

**Please note these video rates include a professional videographer, professional voice over sound recording, pre-production session and editing.

Creative Video Rates

Half Day Shoot – from $3500***

Full Day Shoot – from $6000***

***Please note these video rates include a pre-production session, story boarding and editing. They also include a professional videographer. If your video require location sound recording, please let us know.

All prices are subject to availability and exclude GST. King St. Studios requires payment upfront for all bookings and a 50% cancellation fee applies to anything with less than 24 hours notice.

A quick dive into our Instagram feed will show you pretty quickly that we love to shoot bands. Band photography has been a passion of ours from very early on and we hope it shows.

In addition to a world class in-house team at King St. Studios, we also open up our space to some of Sydney’s finest music photographers including Charlie Hardy, Four Minutes to Midnight and Tom Wilkinson.

We work closely with and share the space with the Happy Mag team so it’s no surprise that shootings artists and bands is well and truly in our DNA.

We also understand that the arts isn’t always supported financially in a way that makes it feasible for creative professionals to access services like photography when they need to.

That’s why we have a very special pricing structure specifically for indie artists to get the most out of our space and ensure they always look their best.

Sydney’s Newest Photo Studio

Why on earth did we go and launch a new photo space for hire just before COVID?

They say timing is every and in this case it’s never been more poignant because two week after we launched King Street Studios to the public and had a party planned, the first COVID lockdown happened. 

Thankfully the team did everything they could to keep morale high and we got through it by shooting things like headphones, microphones and guitar pedals that we had lying around.

We made further investments in our gear, backdrops and had enough time to build an acoustically treated broadcast space. 

Without that lockdown break, we probably wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do so. Eventually word got out and things started returning to a semblance of normal.
